Once again we toddle off straight from the dirty day job to cleanse our minds and ears with some grimy small post rave era mash up. No disappointment here, I tell thee. Entertainment in the best form and highest caliber. Goldielocks, without the bears, dropped some past basslines from the past house and garage genre. Not with total perfection it has to be said but a past blast all the same.
Quietly and slyly Plastic Little sneak onto stage and slowly begin the destruction piece by piece of the crowd, wine glasses and electrical wires. An odd combo but it all happened. Plastic Little mashed up their set. Hitting heavy lyrics, spouting lines to the crowd and generally smashing up and promoting the hottest new tuneage busting out of America at present. A pleasant experience and a tasty change to my normal genre. www.myspace.com/plasticlittlerap
Then for the main man…E.g., Eggsample, Elliott G, Elliotness, your favourite bad habit…. The sample had come ashore! Without the normal Kirin beer but the more conservative bottle of hilly sourced water, eggsample had arrived in a slightly changed method, without Mr. J. Rusher a rare and odd thing. The boy enjoyed and destroyed the night, as per usual, controlling the night with pure ease and ultimate bliss. WeCameWeSawWeKilled the crowd, as dominant as ever, obliterated the now filled up Hoxton back room. The mini-rave was beginning to rip in front of my four eyes with girls skanking left, right and centre. Even to the point in ‘Girl Can’t Dance’ – even with the free T’s – getting lairy with each other nose2nose. Brilliant, exactly what you need on a Thursday night rave up! Example managing to move with undeniable delicacy from track to track exciting the whole place like he was just rolling with the boys on a night out, with copious amount of effortlessness. The boy has grown bigger and more knowledgeable than anyone could have predicted over the last three years with all the ups and downs that the industry has thrown at him, especially with the folding of The Beats. Example deserves a little bit of luck with the next stage of his career but he has the talent and confidence to roll onwards and upwards with his skills. With all the chatter and special lines that Example has provided me with personally, he can only be painted with the golden brush. The boy, the man, the legend, the white boy from Fulham is still the best that we have. I will let nobody tell me any different.
This is what dreams are made of. Example, Sheldrake and the Rusher imposter gained even more love and respect from me. What more can I say but “Show me your dirty face”. Signed, Sealed and Delivered. Job done, night over.
Form is temporary, class is forever. There are so many roads to walk, but this man is walking them well and leaving tracks, literally. In the words of his fine self to describe how it sounds: “You need to try to imagine dropping a load of mandy, taking some laughing gas and sticking your head in a beehive.” How could you possibly resist! Have a fuckin word!

Inspirational Q of the week for me at least:
The man who writes about himself and his own time is the only man who writes about all people and all time.
George Bernard ShawIrish dramatist & socialist (1856 - 1950)
